Attunz Cloud Terms of Service
This English version prevails over any translation.
Last updated: 16 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Attunz, based in the Hong Kong SAR (“Attunz”, “we”, “us”). They apply to Attunz Cloud, the hosted service inside the Attunz Mac app. The app turns on Attunz Cloud for you automatically the first time it starts. You accept these terms when you use Attunz Cloud or buy credits.
The Attunz Cloud Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. The Attunz Cloud Refund Policy forms part of these terms. If a translation of these terms differs from this English version, the English version prevails.

2. The service
- Attunz Cloud provides hosted speech recognition and AI enhancement for dictation, meeting transcription and meeting minutes. It is available in the edition of the Attunz app distributed from attunz.com, not in the Mac App Store edition.
- The service runs on automated speech recognition and AI language models from third-party providers. The app shows them as Attunz models. We may change the underlying providers. A change of provider does not change your credit balance.
- Output is generated by machines and can contain errors. Check important text before you use it.
- We do not guarantee that the service is always available or that it reaches a particular speed or accuracy. Depending on your settings, the app may use local models when the service is unavailable.
3. Wallets and devices
- No account. Attunz Cloud has no accounts and no sign-in. The first time the app starts, it creates a wallet for your Mac and two credentials on it. The device access key authorizes requests from this Mac. It is stored in this Mac’s keychain and is not synced through iCloud. The device signing key signs each request. It is kept in the Mac’s Secure Enclave and cannot be copied to another Mac. Your wallet and its credits are bound to this Mac. When several Macs turn on the app’s Backup & Sync with the same sync folder, the app merges their wallets into one, and those Macs then share a balance. The earliest-registered wallet is kept. Paid and bonus credits from the other wallets move into it with their expiry dates and payment records unchanged. Only the remaining trial credits of the earliest-registered wallet are kept; trial credits in the other wallets are voided. You cannot split a merged wallet yourself.
- Wallet number. The wallet number identifies your wallet for support, refunds and balance transfers. It is not a password and cannot be used to access the wallet.
- Lost Mac or credentials. The app cannot recover a wallet automatically. This happens, for example, when you lose or erase the Mac, reinstall macOS, clear the keychain or set up a new macOS user. If you bought credits for the wallet, email support@attunz.com with your Stripe receipt. We may then transfer the remaining balance manually to a wallet on your new Mac.
- Unpaid wallets. A wallet with no purchase cannot be transferred. If you lose access to it, the wallet cannot be recovered, and the trial credits and manual compensation credits in it lapse. A wallet with no purchase and no requests for 12 consecutive months is deleted automatically.
- Receipts. Stripe sends a receipt to the email address you enter at checkout. Use an address that can receive email, and keep your receipts. We use them to confirm that a wallet is yours.
4. Credits
- Credits are prepaid. One credit equals US$0.01.
- There are four kinds of credits: paid credits that you buy, bonus credits (section 7), trial credits (section 5) and manual compensation credits that we may grant.
- We deduct credits for each request based on its actual usage, at the rates in force when you make the request. As an estimate, dictation uses about 4.6 credits per minute on average. Your actual usage can differ. The estimate is not a promise.
- Expiry:
- Paid credits do not expire. Paid credits bought with a Japanese billing address expire 6 months after purchase.
- Bonus credits expire 90 days after they are granted.
- Trial credits expire 90 days after they are granted.
- Manual compensation credits expire 90 days after they are granted.
- We use the credits that expire earliest first. Then we use paid credits that do not expire, in order of purchase (the earliest purchase first). As a result, the bonus credits of a purchase are used before its paid credits.
- Your balance never goes below zero. When it runs out, cloud requests stop until you buy more credits.
- Credits have no cash value except as set out in sections 8 and 9 and in the Refund Policy. You cannot move credits to another wallet yourself. Nothing renews automatically.
5. Free trial
- The app automatically claims one free trial of 200 credits for each eligible Mac. A wallet can receive at most one trial. Trial credits expire 90 days after they are granted.
- To check eligibility, we use Apple App Attest and DeviceCheck signals from your Mac, and check whether the Mac is a virtual machine. Trials are not available on virtual machines. We may refuse a trial if the Mac has already received one, including after you reinstall the app, clear the keychain, create a new wallet or set up a new macOS user on the same Mac.
- The Privacy Policy describes the device information we use for this and the legal basis for using it.
6. Usage limits
- Each device access key can spend up to 5,000 credits (US$50) per UTC day. After that, requests are refused until the next UTC day starts.
- Each device access key can run up to 5 concurrent speech sessions and AI requests in total. Background memory tasks count toward this limit.
- Background memory tasks, such as learning vocabulary from your dictation, consume credits based on usage, like dictation. To keep a faulty background task from draining your balance, background memory tasks have a usage cap per wallet per UTC day. When the cap is reached or your balance is too low, these tasks wait and try again later.
- We may set other technical limits to protect the service.
7. Purchases and payment
- You buy credits in the app. The app opens a Stripe Checkout page, and Stripe processes the payment.
- Prices are in US dollars everywhere. Each US$1 you pay buys 100 paid credits. The price shown at checkout is the total you pay.
- You can pay US$10, US$50 or US$100, or enter any whole-dollar amount of at least US$10.
- If you pay US$50 or more, we add bonus credits equal to 10% of the paid credits. If you pay US$100 or more, the bonus is 30% instead. The same rule applies to any amount you enter. For example, US$50 buys 5,000 paid credits plus 500 bonus credits, and US$100 buys 10,000 paid credits plus 3,000 bonus credits. Bonus credits are added as a separate batch and expire 90 days after they are granted (section 4).
- We add the credits to your wallet after Stripe confirms the payment.
- We do not accept payments with a billing address in a region listed in section 11. If we receive such a payment, we do not add the credits and we refund the payment.
8. Refunds
You can ask for a refund of the unused paid credits from a purchase within 14 days of the purchase. The Attunz Cloud Refund Policy sets out the conditions, the calculation and how to ask.
9. If we stop providing Attunz Cloud
If we stop providing Attunz Cloud, we refund unused paid credits as set out in section 6 of the Refund Policy. We will announce this in the app and on attunz.com at least 30 days in advance.
10. Turning off Attunz Cloud and deleting your wallet
- When you turn off Attunz Cloud on your Mac, its device access key is revoked and that Mac can no longer use the wallet. The app warns you first. For remaining paid credits, you can ask for a refund under the Refund Policy or for a transfer under section 3. After you turn it off, the app no longer turns it on automatically on that Mac. You can turn it on again at any time.
- To delete your wallet, email support@attunz.com. We may ask for your wallet number and a Stripe receipt to confirm that the wallet is yours. Deleting the wallet gives up all remaining credits and cannot be undone. If you have unused paid credits from a purchase in the last 14 days, ask for a refund first (Refund Policy).
11. Acceptable use
You must not:
- resell Attunz Cloud, share access to it, or use it as a general-purpose API or proxy;
- modify, re-sign or imitate the app, or reverse engineer the service, to get around authentication, billing, limits or trial checks;
- create wallets, use virtual machines or set up extra macOS users to claim more trials;
- use the service for unlawful purposes or to infringe the rights of others;
- use the service from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, or the Crimea region or the so-called Donetsk or Luhansk People’s Republic regions of Ukraine. The service is not available there.
12. Freezing, suspension and termination
- We may freeze a wallet, for example if we suspect fraud, if you file a chargeback for a payment, or if we detect abuse. While a wallet is frozen:
- we refuse its cloud requests, including new purchases from the app;
- the balance is kept, and credits with an expiry date still expire on that date;
- a payment completed while the wallet is frozen, for example from a checkout started before the freeze, is still credited.
- When we unfreeze a wallet, it works normally again. To ask about a frozen wallet, email support@attunz.com.
- We may also revoke device access keys or delete a wallet if you breach these terms, to prevent fraud, or to protect the service. If we end your access because you breached these terms, we refund your unused paid credits under the Refund Policy, minus any amount you owe us, for example from a chargeback.
- You can stop using Attunz Cloud at any time.
13. Third-party beneficiaries
No third party has rights under these terms.
14. Disclaimers and liability
Attunz Cloud is provided as is. Speech recognition and AI output can contain errors, so check important text before you rely on it. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims about Attunz Cloud is limited to the amount you paid us for credits in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights under mandatory consumer law.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong SAR, and the courts of the Hong Kong SAR have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
16. Changes to these terms
We will publish changes on this page and update the date above. We will tell you about material changes before they take effect.
