Where attunz is different
- Offline dictation and AI cleanup: download a local speech model and a local enhancement model once, and both run on your Mac without internet.
- No subscription: all app features are free with local models or your own API key (BYOK). You pay any third-party API fees to that provider. Attunz Cloud is optional and uses pay-as-you-go credits.
- Memory for names and terms: attunz picks up names, terms and writing preferences from your dictation and from documents you import, and uses them for recognition and editing.
When Wispr Flow is the better choice
- You need dictation on Windows, iPhone or Android. Wispr Flow runs on all of them; attunz runs only on Mac.
- You use an Intel Mac. Wispr Flow has an Intel build; attunz needs Apple silicon and macOS 14.0 or later.
- You do not want to download models. Wispr Flow transcribes online. attunz works best with local models, which need disk space and enough memory.
- Your company needs team plans. Wispr Flow sells team and enterprise plans.
Switch from Wispr Flow
- Download attunz with the button below and move it to Applications.
- Allow microphone access, and Accessibility access so attunz can insert text into other apps.
- While online, download and select a local speech model. For offline cleanup, also select a local enhancement model.
- Dictate into any text field with your shortcut.
- Turn on Memory in Settings and choose an available memory model. To give it a head start, import documents that contain your names and terms.

Is attunz really free?
